“If I Have My Farm and Other Agricultural Inputs, I Need No One Else Apart from ALLAH, I Know How to Survive”.
Ladiye Muse Nuriye is a 50 years old father with 7 children, he has born and took his life in Geb village under Lughaya district Awdal region. Ladiye has a farm where he used to cultivate and produce income for his family, before the cyclone in May, 2018 Ladiye’s farm was around 4-hectare square which was enough source for their livelihood. The cyclone Sagar affected Ladiye’s farm severely and swept away the farming land which turned entirely sandy river, the harvesting(ed) crops and all other agricultural inputs and irrigation system. Since the farm was the only source of income and the only profession, he does in his life is agriculture, Ladiye become hopeless and his family experienced difficult livelihood. TASCO with SHF reached Geb village and registered Ladiye’s farm to restore his livelihood and hope. TASCO cleared and prepared 1-hectare land full of bush shrubs to provide new arable land for LADIYE next location to his lost farm, TASCO rehabilitated the farm’s buried and damaged shallow well, 6 KGs of different 6 item seeds provided to Ladiye, 1 water pump and 100 M water pipe and cultivation tools were provided to Ladiye’s new farm to start seasonal crop production. Ladiye made effort and benefited the provided support, Now Ladiye is going to harvest watermelon, muskmelon and onion and expecting better yields. The organization provided 30 water pumps, 30 water pipes (100M), rehab of 30 shallow wells, agricultural tools and preparation of 30-hectare farm land to agropastoral communities affected the cyclone Sagar May, 2018 in Lughaya District.
